Sensei Demura says, "The most important thing

in Karate is having the proper attitude."

The Dictionary describes Karate as:
Karate kaq-raq·te
Main Entry: ka·ra·te
Pronunciation: ke-raa-te
Function: noun
Etymology: Japanese, from kara (empty) + te (hand)  :an Oriental art of  self-defense in which an attacker is disabled by crippling kicks and punches.
The word karate eventually took on a deeper and broader meaning through many changes and the adoption of many techniques. Finally becoming Karate-Do, literally the "way of karate," or of the empty hand. In fact: Karate is an Art form that uses ALL of the parts of the body (Fingers, Fists, Elbows, Feet, Knees and more) to provide an effective system of self defense.

Many of the ancient Karate techniques have been scientifically analyzed and have been found to be the optimum a human can achieve!

Sensei Demura says, "Karate has many great attributes but an important one is: That anyone of any size, shape, age, or gender can train in Karate!"
